Danger Point & Dyer Island Fishing Tour

Launching from the New Harbour in Hermanus, this full-day fishing trip is an adventure not to be missed. After an early-morning meet-and-greet,  with yoour skipper and crew over coffee and rusks.

You stand a chance of catching red stumpnose, kabeljou/cob, Cape salmon, yellowtail, bonito, silverfish/carpenter, and maybe snoek and mackerel. In season.

 Departure from Hermanus New Harbour

  • Meet Time: 6:30 am
  • Launch Time: 7:00am
  • Return Time: Late Afternoon
  • Activity: Meet at Hermanus New Harbour for a brief introduction and safety briefing. Your Skipper will provide an overview of the trip and the fish species you are likely to encounter.
  • Equipment: All fishing gear supplied: oilskins, rod, reel, tackle and bait.

Description

The motor vessel Blouvin and her crew will cruise south east towards Danger Point. During this time we will check a few fishing spots on the way. We may even have the oportuntity to troll some lines for skipjack and yellowtail .

 

Once we round Danger Point, it’s time to start fishing!
Bait, reels, rods and tackle are provided, although keen fishermen and -women are welcome to bring their own equipment.

 

You stand a chance of catching red stumpnose, kabeljou/cob, Cape salmon, yellowtail, bonito, silverfish/carpenter, and maybe snoek and mackerel. In season.

 

The tour last about six to seven hours, we will be back at Hermanus New Harbour late afternoon.

 

Please note that before a fishing trip, it is essential to obtain a recreational fishing licence.

– Brimmed hat
– Sunblock
– Warm, wind- and waterproof clothing

All fishing gear supplied: oilskins, rod, reel, tackle and bait.

Coffee and muffins or rusks offered on arrival.
Sandwiches and snacks are served during the tour.
Clients are welcome to bring their own drinks and snacks for the trip, or contact us beforehand with their specific catering requirements for an additional fee.

Note: The skipper and crew adhere to safety regulations set out by South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) and the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF).
