Overview
Skipper, 1st Mate, Divemaster, Videographer, Marine Guide and Bait Wrangler included.
Known as the ‘Great White Shark Capital of the World’, Gansbaai (situated 200km east of Cape Town) offers thrilling up-close-and-personal encounters with a range of majestic marine creatures.
The shark wranglers aim to observe, predominantly, great white and bronze whaler sharks at ‘Shark Alley’ near Dyer Island. The tour is about two-hours long and is suitable for all adventurers. No diving experience is necessary and surface viewing is also possible.
Once the skipper and crew have located the sharks, the boat is anchored and the cage lowered into the water. Each cage diver will be provided with a wetsuit, dive mask and snorkel before they enter the partly submerged cage to view the sharks, attracted to the boat by chumming (using fish as bait). A qualified dive master is on board.
